Welcome to Mrs.D’s Fourth Grade Class
WELCOME
My name is Emily Dubnowski and I will be your child’s Fourth Grade Teacher for the 2012/2013 school year. I am very happy to be at Cool Spring Elementary School and am excited for this year of learning with my new students. I hope to make fun and productive experiences for my class and look forward to working with both you and your child this year in Fourth Grade.
The students in my class will come to me with different skill levels. I plan to help students build on their individual skills to excel academically, emotionally and socially. My personal teaching philosophy incorporates concepts of planned classroom management with a fun, safe and secure classroom climate for my students to learn. I will teach, practice and reinforce classroom procedures to ensure effective learning and will use supportive techniques, such as differentiated instruction and varied teaching modalities, in order to reach and engage all my students. I will use corrective measures to teach a responsibility and respect model, as well. Each student’s learning and well being in a well-rounded environment are my main concerns, as a teacher, and I believe in making conscious decisions for my classroom.
Parent/Teacher Relationship
I believe a good parent/teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through your child’s daily planner, Thursday folders, monthly Fourth Grade newsletters, report cards and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.
My email address is emily.dubnowski@lcps.org.
