Mrs. Freeman - First Grade
Hello Parents! My name is Christina Freeman, and I will be your child's first grade teacher this year. I wanted to share with you a little bit about my teaching background and philosophy of teaching. My studies began at Frostburg State University where I received an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. A few years later, I continued my education and earned a master’s degree in reading from the University of Virginia. My experience includes thirteen years of teaching both as a classroom teacher and as a reading specialist in Charlottesville, VA. This will be my third year here at Cool Spring Elementary School as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. I look forward to sharing my passion for teaching with the students at Cool Spring. We will read lots of books and study authors such as David Shannon, Jarrett Krosoczka, and Laura Numeroff. I believe that in all subjects that children learn best by using their five senses to create and solve problems. Most importantly, I believe parents are their children’s first and most important teacher and know that together we can reach your child’s full potential.
