Parent(s) and guardian(s) of students registered in Loudoun County Public Schools may apply for Special Permission for the 2014-2015 school year to schools with capacity beginning Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
**If you have moved during the 2013-2014 school year, you must complete a Family Relocation Form for each student and provide a Change of Address Form and Proof of Residency Document (Deed, Settlement Paper Work or Lease) to our office and to the school! Click on the link which states "Family Relocation AFTER the Start of the School Year" on the left side for more information and forms! **
PLEASE NOTE! THE REQUESTED GRADE IS THE GRADE YOUR STUDENT WILL BE IN FOR THE 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR! YOUR CONFIRMATION PAGE WILL REFLECT THE REQUESTED GRADE! KINDERGARTEN SPECIAL PERMISSION REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED BEGINNING APRIL 8, 2014 AT 9:00 A.M. AFTER KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION BEGINS.
Elementary School capacity is determined by the grade level requested. The following secondary (middle and high) schools are not available for Special Permission requests for the 2014-2015 school year because they are at program capacity, and will not show in the list of available schools from which to choose:

J. Michael Lunsford Middle School
Stone Hill Middle School
Briar Woods High School
Broad Run High School
Dominion High School
Loudoun County High School
Potomac Falls High School
Stone Bridge High School
Tuscarora High School
The request window will re-open for schools with sufficient capacity to Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) families April 1, 2014-September 15, 2014. For families of students new to LCPS, please request Special Permission as soon as your student is registered at the school which serves your attendance zone.

Please contact our office if you have questions, or refer to the links on the left side of this page for information regarding Family Relocation provisions and information (for move-outs and move-ins within Loudoun County that occur during the school year).
If your student is served through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), please contact the Office of Special Education at (571) 252-1011 if you would like to discuss your student's placement at a school other than the one which serves your current residence.
On March, 11, 2014, the Loudoun County School Board adopted revisions to Policy §8-20, School Assignment, which went into effect immediately, replacing previous versions of the policy.
