Earth Savers

EarthSavers' Accomplishments

 

 

Planting our meadow

 

    • In April 2010, the students planted wildflower seeds and plants during their library class time.   
    • We developed partnerships with the Audubon Naturalist Society and the Newton Marasco Foundation.
  • Cub Scout troop 1162 built log benches for our outdoor classroom and installed them for us 2011.
  •  Green Program naming contest in which one of our first graders created the name Emerick Earth Savers.
  • Summer Reading Program encouraged students to read Green Earth Book Award winners. 
  • Children’s books written about environmental stewardship.Sponsored an Idle Free Zone poster contest in our car rider lot.
  •   The Audubon Naturalist Society  - funded a field trip for our 5th graders and provided lessons for each grade level.
  •  We purchased a bird bath to provide a water source for wildlife and plan to add another to the       meadow      this summer.
  • We created meadow plant markers and a welcome sign which is permanent.
