Michael G. Betenson 2016/2017 Aldie Elementary School
Philosophy of Education: I believe that students are unique individuals that bring distinctive and special qualities to the classroom. Each one of these children deserves a safe and stimulating environment to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Their classroom is a community of learners that range from different learning styles as well as abilities. My role is to insure that I adapt my curriculum so that every unique student feels that they can have success and improve on their prior knowledge. The curriculum should be relevant to their needs; it should enrich their lives, expand their knowledge, and help them become further contributing problem solvers of society.
Degrees: Masters in Educational Administration, Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning Theory, BA Elementary Education
Experience: This is my 19th year of teaching and my ninth year in Loudoun County Schools. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
Personal: I am married and have two children. I moved to Virginia in September 2007 and enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family. I am excited for great teaching and learning experiences this year and look forward to helping each child reach their full potential.
