STEM StudentsSterling Students Skyrocket in Science Skills During STEM Camp
From Monday, July 12th through Friday, July 16th, 63 students from five Park View High School feeder elementary schools gathered daily at Sterling Middle School to participate in the science, technology, engineering and math STEM Camp.  The rising fourth- and fifth-graders were able to attend the free, week-long immersion in all things science, math and engineering because of a grant from the Howard Hughes Foundation.  Full Story
Redskins“Stuff a Backpack” School Supply Drive during the 2010 Redskins Training Camp
The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation in partnership with World Vision – National Capital Area will launch a “Stuff a Backpack” School Supply Drive from Thursday, July 29th, through Saturday, August 7th.  It is seeking donations of new school supplies to help families in need get their children ready to start the school year.  Full Story

Destinee Nelson, a rising senior at Heritage High School and a CAMPUS student, was one of nine students selected to participate in The Washington Post's 4th Annual Digital Journalism Workshop for Young Journalists.  Full Story

Broad Run High School's Whitney Church has been named the Virginia High School Coaches Association (VHSCA) Girls' Soccer Player of the Year. Spartans coach Claire Collins was named Coach of the Year.
More than 1,000 parents and friends of students who participated in the 2010 Summer in the Arts (SIA) attended the “Arts Explosion” held on Saturday, July 10th, at Heritage High School.
Stone Bridge High School's Joan Windows has been named the Virginia High School Coaches Association (VHSCA) Group AAA Girls' Soccer Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to the state title in June.
Jennifer Zecher, a social sciences teacher at Park View High School, has been named a 2010 Anne and Ryland Brown Teacher Research Fellow by the Library of Virginia.
As soon as rising ninth grade students ended their eighth grade school year, they enrolled in the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Summer CAMPUS Seminar to begin preparing for admission to college.
