I have been a Reading Specialist in Loudoun County for many years. I have taught at Hillside since it opened in 1998. Prior to that, I taught at Algonkian Elementary School in Countryside. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Alderson-Broaddus College, a liberal arts college in north central West Virginia, and a M.Ed. degree in Reading from West Virginia University. I have been an adjunct instructor for George Mason University as well as a presenter for reading workshops at the school, county and state levels. I have been a mentor teacher to new Reading Specialists in Loudoun County and a past president of the Greater Washington Reading Council. I truly enjoy teaching students to love reading!
